About Wills and Trust Attorney Edward Bernard
I became a licensed California Attorney in 1976. I was fortunate to pass the bar exam the first time I took it. I started in private practice immediately.
I then took the Nevada bar exam in 1978 and passed it the first time. I have been in private practice my entire career.
Early on I became interested in the legal relationship between a trustee and beneficiary. for more than 30 years I have represented trustees and taken actions against trustees, I have represented beneficiaries both as claimants and defended them when needed.
I have represented Escrow and Title companies, banks and title insurance companies. I have represented fiduciaries as Guardians and have defended elderly whose independence was at risk by family members and private companies.
I was selected by my peers to serve on the Northern Nevada Disciplinary Board, where I served from 1987-2012. Our board would hear cases involving unethical conduct regarding lawyers.
We had the power to suspend or disbar lawyers, our decisions were then reviewed by the Supreme Court.
My Motto is “every dog has its day,” and with me, you will have yours.
